A Closer Look at the New Theatre Building
The new theatre provides our audiences with accessibility and comfort. Our increased capacity opens the door to more performances by Persephone and our many performing arts partners.
- Main stage — Seating for 421 patrons, including a balcony and box seats. Advanced sound and lighting technology, an orchestra pit, wing space, and access to backstage areas, allows for multiple configurations for a variety of productions.
- Second stage — This “black box” venue will house 100 people. It will allow for a variety of performances including plays, musical concerts, trade shows, and lunch time theatre. The facility is designed to allow shows on both stages simultaneously.
- Workshop space — The new workshops, carpentry, and costume areas are spacious, have upgraded equipment, access points to accommodate both stages, and provide space for Persephone's productions and any other groups' needs, without any overlap or conflict.
- Lobby — Spacious and inviting, with expanded concession areas. With a spectacular view of the new River Landing area, Persephone is one of the premier locations in Saskatoon.
