Charles Dickens'
Great Expectations
Adapted from the novel by Errol Durbach
A Co-Production with Blackbird Theatre Company
From the author of A Christmas Carol comes this heartfelt tale of growing up, love, and loyalty.
Young Pip is a blacksmith’s apprentice without “expectations” until a secret benefactor changes his fortunes; surely it can be no coincidence that this follows his introduction to the eccentric Miss Havisham and her beautiful but cold-hearted adopted daughter Estella. Pip’s life as a fine gentleman proceeds just as planned until he makes a shocking discovery.
October 20 – November 3, 2010
Harvest
A Comedy by Ken Cameron
When the Duncansons retired from farming and moved to their condo in the city they just couldn’t bear to sell the old farmhouse. Unbeknownst to them “the nice young man” they rented to was growing something a little less legal than winter wheat. Now as they wait for some important news, good-hearted Allan and Charlotte fill us in on all the unexpected events that brought them to this moment. This prairie comedy sees two actors playing all 12 characters.
November 24 – December 8th, 2010
The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood
Based on the classic English legend
Adapted by Jeff Pitcher
A swashbuckling hero, Robin Hood steals from the rich, gives to the poor, woos Maid Marian, and leads his band of Merry Men in daring adventures against the evil Sheriff of Nottingham and the villainous Prince John. Treat your family to this holiday feast of merriment, heroics, and justice.
January 19 – February 2, 2011
Lawrence and Holloman
By Morris Panych
Lawrence is overconfident, extroverted, and never at a loss for words; while Holloman is timid, uptight, and reclusive. Following a chance encounter, this modern odd couple becomes the best of friends and the worst of enemies. Now poor Lawrence, who has always known everything about anything, can’t understand why his luck has taken a downturn. But, lucky for us, in this wicked comedy things can always get worse.
“A deliciously disturbing picture of clashing personalities -- complete with black eyes and blacker humour, bathtub and insane asylum scenes, and the occasional joke about male anatomy.” Winnipeg Sun
March 16th – 30th, 2011
Rabbit Hole
By David Lindsay-Abaire
Becca and Howie Corbett had a wonderful life until the tragic death of their son shattered their world leaving each of them wounded and alone. Both sad and funny, Rabbit Hole bears witness to one family’s attempt to cope with the impossible and their realization that coming together is the path out of the dark.
David Lindsay-Abaire's Rabbit Hole garnered five Tony nominations and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2007.
“An intensely emotional examination of grief, laced with wit, insightfulness, compassion, and searing honesty.” – Variety

Urinetown
Music by Mark Hollmann
Lyrics by Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis

A terrible water shortage has led to a ban on private toilets and now the greedy UGC (Urine Good Company) is controlling the pay-per-pee facilities. As the poor struggle to scrape together their daily fee, a courageous hero arises and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom!
This Tony Award winning Broadway musical is a hilarious tale of greed, corruption, love, and revolution in a time when water is worth its weight in gold.
