Take the plunge into the deep end, but remember there's no lifeguard here!
The newly-completed BackStage Stage has inspired me to create an additional subscription series: The Deep End. Here, in this intimate setting, audiences will find more exotic, challenging work - programming for both the aficionado and the newcomer, but not for the faint of heart or sensitive. Just assume, WARNING: language, content, sexual situations, sweaty actors, post-modernism, words in new combinations, fun, and you will be fine. There will be three plays offered from Persephone in this series, and the BackStage Stage will join The Refinery as an additional new venue for some of the popular Live 5 series. .

In Dublin, a widower visits an ex-priest turned therapist. One is haunted, literally, by his dead wife, while the other is haunted by his own carnal nature and the mistakes he's made in trying to escape from it. Shining City is a heartbreaking, captivating, exquisitely beautiful new play with a heart-stopping surprise.

"Notice to all men in the city: well-to-do young woman, forthright and intelligent, is seeking a man who will interest, move and seduce her: In that order. Substantial remuneration." High above the city, Beatrice sits on the 33rd floor of an office tower waiting for the right man to respond to her ad. When John appears, the games begin in this comic yet strangely accurate tale of the pursuit of love by one of Canada's foremost contemporary playwrights.
