SaskTel Youth Tour

SaskTel Youth Tour

A mainstay of Saskatchewan theatre. For decades, Persephone Theatre has been producing some of the best scripts for youth. We pack a set and a group of actors into a van and send them off to every corner of Saskatchewan to perform in gymnasiums and venues for Saskatchewan Youth. Theatre inspires through imagination and finds a special place in the hearts and minds of students everywhere.

The 2012 SaskTel Youth Tour played to rave reviews from teachers and students around the province and the 2013 lineup is even better. We have assembled two amazing scripts that your students will enjoy immensely and that tackle important issues, making them of great use to your school’s curriculum and classroom activities. It is a special pleasure for us to develop and premiere a youth version of a Saskatchewan-made hip hop musical.

As always, it is great to hear your feedback so feel free to get in touch with any questions or comments.

On board the Shark de Triomphe, three red-nosed pirates plunder the high seas, wherever the scent of riches leads them. That is, until they haul up a blue-nosed creature named Ku who challenges everything they think they know about the world. With this foreign visitor aboard, Ratt, Spatt and Knat must learn that being different isn’t so bad, and there might just be more to learn out there.

Cope
By Greg Ochitwa
Dates – February through April 2012
High School

STUDY GUIDE WILL BE AVAILABLE IN SEPTEMBER

In this fresh and frank Saskatchewan-made hip hop musical about finding your way, Owin must resist the temptation to take the easy way out, and Kay is torn between her love for him and her fear of his darkness. Cope follows their battles with disease, addiction, abuse and love, and reflects on whether our humanity is revealed not in the ways we thrive, but in the ways we cope
